"WE HAVE TO BE #CAREFUL#NOT TO #DEGENERATE LIKE THESE OTHERS." #Srila#Prabhupada:
The other house which you describe sounds very nice. You can accept the offer immediately and begin living there. You say they are prepared to give it for a good cause. What is more public welfare than Krishna Consciousness? To awaken everyone's original consciousness is the best public welfare in the whole world. So occupy this house and show some good work and in this way they may be induced to let us stay. Even if you can only stay for three months, what is the loss? You can always look for another place. Now people are seeing how genuine our movement is, they are coming forward to offer us so many places. We simply have to maintain our strict principles, keeping ourselves pure, Otherwise, there are so many bogus institutions doing business in the name of God and simply cheating the people. We have to be careful not to degenerate like these others. Our strength depends upon regular chanting the required 16 rounds and rigidly adhering to the regulative principles. [Letter to Yasomatinandana -- Bombay 9 January, 1976]
THE #FORTUNATE AND THE #UNFORTUNATE.
#Srila#Prabhupada: Modern age means all rascals and fools. So we haven't got to follow the rascals and fools. You have to follow the most #perfect, #Krsna.
Paramahamsa: The problem is that everyone is cheating. Everyone is presenting some knowledge of this or that... Prabhupada: Therefore we have accepted Krsna, who will not #cheat. You are cheater, therefore you are #believing#cheaters. We do not cheat, and we accept a person who does not cheat. That is the difference between you and me.
Ganesa: But we were all cheaters before we came to you, Srila Prabhupada. So how is it that we're not accepting a cheater? How is it that we cheaters have accepted some knowledge from you?
Prabhupada: Yes, because you are speaking what Krsna said. He is not cheater. He is God. I am talking to you, but not my own knowledge. I am presenting to you what Krsna said. That's all. Therefore I am not cheater. I might have been a cheater, but since I am talking only the words of Krsna, since then I am not cheater. Krsna says, vedaham samatitani (BG 7.26), "I know past, present and future." Therefore He is not cheater. But so far we are concerned, we do not know what was the past and what is future. And we do not know perfectly the present also. And if we speak something, then we are cheater. That is cheating. Our Krsna consciousness movement is that don't hear the cheaters and don't try to cheat others. Be honest, and hear from the authority. This is Krsna. Our Krsna consciousness movement is, that don't hear the cheaters and don't try to cheat others. Be honest and hear from the authorities. That is Krsna consciousness.
Amogha: Srila Prabhupada? Why is it that some people, when they hear about Krsna consciousness, they take it, and some do not. And still, after that, some of those who take it, they stay, and some who take it take it for some time and then they fail?
Prabhupada: That is fortunate and unfortunate. Just like one inherits father's property. Many millions of dollars, and he has become a poor man by his misusing the money. Like that. He is unfortunate. He got the money, but he could not utilize it.
#Meek and #humble inherit the kingdom of God
#Srila#Prabhupada..." #Humbleness is the #sign of #progress in #Krishna#Consciousness.
A Krishna Consciousness person thinks always about himself as the lowest creature in the world, and the more one thinks like that he becomes elevated more and more. A Krishna Conscious person is never falsely puffed-up; he is satisfied with his humble position as the servant of the servant of the servant of Krishna."
Letter to: Krishna dasa, June 1, 1968
Srila #Prabhupāda: People are suffering by their concocted culture. Suffering. And Guru Mahārāja wanted this. Actually it is his mission, Caitanya Mahāprabhu's mission. But I am... I have tried sincerely. I am not qualified, but only qualification is that I tried to do the best, that's all. That much qualification. I had faith in their program, and I thought, "I shall try my best, whatever capacity I have got." That's all. Yasya deve parā bhaktir tathā deve tathā gurau (ŚU 6.23). Little confident, that "Why? If Caitanya Mahāprabhu wants it, my Guru Mahārāja wants it, why it will not be successful? Let me try." That's all. Mukhaṁ karoti vācālaṁ panguṁ laṅghayate girim: "A dumb man can become orator." It is like that. I never thought that they will praise so much. What it is possible? Mukhaṁ karoti vācālam. "A dumb man can become orator, and a lame man can cross over the mountain." Yat kṛpā tam ahaṁ vande śrī-guruṁ dīna-tāraṇam. By the mercy of guru it is possible. ( #Srila#Prabhupada Conversation, Bhuvanesvara, January 21, 1977)
