Day 18—I’m so, so thankful, grateful for foster care. For the impact it’s made in our family. We haven’t even brought a child into our home yet but so many sweet babies have blessed our lives through my brother and sister in law and through my cousins. And through friends. Just like this sweet, sweet girl.
Though the goal is always reunification, bringing families back together, and deep, real healing, it’d be a lie to say we didn’t want to keep her in our family forever. Her smile lights up a room. She’s just pure joy. She’s made such an impact in the time she’s in been in our lives. I guess my only complaint with her would be that she truly loves Adam more than me. I mean I just don’t get it. It’s all Adam everything. I picked out her gift, bought it, wrapped it and he didn’t even know what it was but when she opened that card and saw that gift—she heard one name only. Ohhhhh Adam! 😂🤣 I kid. This is exactly why I love this man so darn much. And why I want to open our home to kids in the foster system. He is so good with kids. He is a true gem. I’m so blessed God led me him. I just can’t wait to see all the good he and the kids do in others lives because he has definitely passed it on to his kiddos.
